Starring: Among Paul Thomas's strengths is his ability to juggle detailed plotlines and blistering sex. But in "Taxi Dancers," Thomas bobbles the mix by attaching some OK sex onto a cliched story. Set in Herschel Savage's exotic dance club, it appears a psycho is on the loose stalking the girls. Told using flashbacks that complicate the story, we follow Mickey G. as the detective hunting the killer and Asia Carrera as the murderer's victim.

Well-shot, the problem is the plotting. Thomas fails to effectively meld the sex into the story.

As always, Thomas knows how to push our buttons. The girls, especially supporting players like Tia Bella and Liza Harper, are game sex queens. But having Asia Carerra carry the buld of the boning is a problem. Unlike her early work--when she had a racehorse lean body and natural tits--Asia just walks through the video with little drive. After watching this and some of her more recent mediocre releases, could she be bored with the whole business?

The highlight is Savage's threesome with Alexandra Silk and Harper, thanks to Liza's dynamite anal performance.

It fails as a porn thriller. There are too many dull twists, flashbacks, and hardboiled cliches.

A Thomas should have known better.
